Struggling with an Eating Disorder?

Eating disorders can be characterised by symptoms of

  • Restriction of daily caloric intake

  • Intense fear of gaining weight

  • Disturbance in the perception of the body

  • Recurrent binge eating episodes and compensatory behaviours

  • Vomiting, misuse of laxatives and other medications, fasting or excessive exercise

  • Eating much more rapidly than normal, until feeling uncomfortably full, when not hungry or when feeling emotional

Not all eating disorders result in being underweight, and not all eating disorders include compensatory behaviours. People of all sizes can have eating disorders.
