Depressive disorders are characterised by symptoms of

  • Depressed mood most of the day, nearly every day

  • Markedly diminished interest or pleasure in activities

  • Significant weight loss or gain

  • Slowing down of thought and reduction in physical movement

  • Fatigue or loss of energy

  • Feelings of worthlessness or guilt

  • Diminished ability to think or concentrate

  • Recurrent thoughts of death, suicidal ideation with or without a plan and possible suicide attempt/s
